   Immigration & Customs

   Step 1

   • Clear passport control at Hosea Kutako International Airport (WDH) or Walvis Bay Airport (WVB).
   • Visa-on-Arrival: Available to eligible nationalities at the primary port of entry.
   • • African Union nationals: N$1,200.00
   • • Non-African nationals: N$1,600.00
   • Requirement: Passport validity minimum 6 months beyond intended stay.
   • Permitted stay (standard tourist): 90 days (extendable at Ministry of Home Affairs, Independence Avenue, Windhoek).
2. 📱

   SIM Card / Connectivity

   Step 2

   • Telecom kiosks are located in the arrivals terminal before baggage collection and at the exit hall.
   • Available networks: MTC (dominant, widest rural coverage) and Telecom Namibia.
   • Recommend MTC for nationwide LTE coverage across all 10 NamHub primary hubs.
   • Prepaid SIM requires passport. Cost: approximately N$10.00–N$30.00 (SIM + starter data bundle).
3. 💰

   Currency

   Step 3

   • The Namibian Dollar (NAD) is pegged 1:1 with the South African Rand (ZAR). ZAR is also accepted at most retailers.
   • Avoid airport cash exchange desks (high-fee). Use the FNB or Standard Bank ATMs in the arrivals terminal for the best rate.
4. 🚗

   Transport from Airport

   Step 4

   • Distance to Windhoek CBD: approximately 45 km from Hosea Kutako.
   • Official regulated airport-to-city shuttles: use the verified operators listed on NamHub.
   • Do not accept unverified “taxi offers” at the arrival hall exit. Use NamHub's verified directory.
