Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice explains how NamHub (Pty) Ltd ("NamHub", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use the NamHub app, website, and related services.
1. Who we are
NamHub (Pty) Ltd, trading as "NamHub", is a company registered in the Republic of Namibia with its head office in Windhoek. NamHub is the controller of the personal data described in this notice. You can reach us at support@namhub.app.
2. Personal data we collect
Account and profile data: name, phone number, email address, password credentials, town, profile photo, and preferred language.
Verification data: government-issued ID, selfie, proof of address, proof of ownership or authority, and other documents you upload for KYC.
Listing and transaction data: property, taxi, or directory details, prices, availability, messages you send through the platform, and wallet activity.
Support data: messages you send to our support, safety, fraud, disputes, and business teams, plus any attachments.
Usage and device data: log data, IP address, device identifiers, browser type, approximate location derived from IP, crash reports, and product telemetry.
Cookies and similar technologies used for authentication, security, and analytics.
3. How we use your data and legal basis
To create and secure your account, verify your identity, and operate the marketplace (performance of a contract).
To match hosts, drivers, businesses and users, run in-app messaging, and process wallet transactions (performance of a contract).
To detect fraud, abuse, and safety risks, and to enforce our Terms (legitimate interests, and legal obligation where applicable).
To provide customer support and resolve disputes (performance of a contract and legitimate interests).
To improve NamHub, run analytics, and develop new features (legitimate interests).
To send transactional messages (booking updates, verification, wallet notifications) and, with your consent where required, product updates and marketing.
To meet legal, tax, and regulatory obligations in Namibia.
4. Who we share your data with
Other users, only as needed for a listing, booking, or message you initiate (for example, revealing your name to a host you contact).
Service providers who host our infrastructure, run analytics, send email and SMS, and provide customer support tooling, under written data processing terms.
Paddle.com Market Limited, our Merchant of Record for card payments and subscriptions. Paddle receives the personal and payment data needed to process your order, handle billing, calculate taxes, and issue invoices and refunds. See Paddle's privacy notice at paddle.com/legal/privacy.
Professional advisers such as lawyers, auditors, and accountants where necessary.
Namibian authorities, courts, and regulators where we are required to by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of NamHub, our users, or the public.
We do not sell your personal data.
5. International transfers
Some of our providers (including Paddle and cloud hosting partners) process data outside Namibia. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses, and we require them to protect your data to a comparable standard.
6. Retention
We keep personal data only for as long as we need it for the purposes above. Account and listing data is kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to handle disputes and legal claims. Verification documents are kept for the period required by anti-fraud and KYC rules. Wallet, payment and tax records are retained for the periods required by Namibian law. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
7. Your rights
Subject to Namibian law and any other law that applies to you, you can request access to your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent, and receive a copy of data you have provided in a portable format.
To exercise these rights, email support@namhub.app. We will respond within a reasonable time and, where the law sets a shorter period, within that period.
8. Security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls, row-level security on our database, audit logging, and staff training. No system is perfectly secure, so we also ask you to protect your password and report suspicious activity to safety@namhub.app.
9. Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies for sign-in, security and fraud prevention, and limited analytics cookies to understand how NamHub is used. You can manage cookies through your browser settings; blocking essential cookies will break parts of the app.
10. Children
NamHub is not directed to children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact support@namhub.app and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time. Material changes will be notified in the app or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
